August 24, 2023

It is with great sadness that we inform you of the passing of Margot Bolton on Thursday, August 24, 2023, at the age of 84. Margot, daughter of Leance (Lamoureux) and Freddie Blythe, was born in Edmonton, AB. She was married to Hugh Bolton for 60 years until his passing. Margot is survived by her sisters Nicole Hackman (Gary), Michelle McWhirter (Grant), and Colette McEwen (Jim), as well as her children Rick, Scott (Ellen), Blythe Ibatuan (Kevin), and Cydney (Beau Zahrai). She also leaves behind twelve grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Margot was the heart and soul of her family. She was a shining star in the eyes of her children and grandchildren. Her warmth and authenticity left a lasting impression on everyone she met. Margot led a remarkable life, starting from her days working part-time at Johnston Walker’s while attending St. Joseph’s High School in Edmonton. She then moved to the family ranch in Alberta and later settled in the bustling city of Toronto. Eventually, she retired to the family home in the Okanagan, and in her final years, she returned to Alberta, where she was surrounded by loved ones. Throughout all her life changes, Margot faced them with grace and elegance. She was the unsung hero of her family and friends, never seeking recognition for her impact. Her grace, wit, and boundless kindness will be deeply missed and cherished by all who were fortunate enough to know her. This tribute serves as a token of gratitude for a life well lived.

A private Celebration of Margot’s Life will be held with her family in the near future. Memories, condolences, and photos can be shared and viewed on the family’s website at http://www.MHFH.com.
