Marlis, a cherished wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, friend, and neighbor, peacefully passed away at her residence. She has now found solace in reuniting with her dearly missed husband, Guenter, whom she has longed for over the past nine years. Left to cherish her memory are her daughter Karen and her adoring granddaughters, Deanna, Melanie, and Laurel.

Marlis and Guenter, both immigrants from Germany, crossed paths and embarked on a journey of love in Vancouver, B.C. Throughout their union, they embarked on numerous adventures, spending countless long weekends and summers exploring the vast corners of the province. Marlis utilized her photography skills to capture the beauty they discovered during their camping trips.

When the arrival of her grandchildren brought boundless joy into her life, Marlis’s passion for photography seamlessly shifted focus. With each grandchild, her love for them radiated through her skilled lens.

In her later years, Marlis dedicated her attention to her beloved garden, the hummingbirds that frequented it, and the occasional trip to Whitespot. She shared beauty and tranquility with those who encountered her flourishing garden and took pleasure in witnessing the grace of hummingbirds.

Though her absence leaves a void in the lives of many, Marlis’s kind-hearted spirit will forever illuminate our memories.
