Marilyn Malizia (nee Sparkes), our beloved mother, peacefully passed away on October 31, 2023, as she embarked on a journey to reunite with cherished loved ones who had departed before her. Throughout her final day, Marilyn was surrounded by her family, in the presence of close friends, and received comforting messages through phone calls. She was an exceptionally unique woman, embodying grace, dignity, kindness, fairness, and acceptance towards everyone she encountered. Marilyn was preceded in death by her husband, Michael Malizia, and her son, Lorne Finch. She is survived by her devoted children, Ralph (Rhonda) and Christine (Tim), as well as her grandchildren, Michael (Kallie), Alexandra (Daniel), Dana (Johnston), Mitchell, Jacob, Avery, and Mark, and great-granddaughter, Payton. Marilyn will be deeply missed by her nieces, nephews, lifelong friends, and loved ones from the Malizia and Finch families.
The family will receive friends and relatives for visitation at Families First, South Windsor, 3260 Dougall Ave, 519-969-5841 on Thursday, November 2, 2023, from 3-5 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Visiting hours will continue on Friday, November 3, 2023, starting at 10 a.m., until the time of the Service at 11 a.m. Interment will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. She spent her final day surrounded by her devoted family, with numerous in-person visits and phone calls from her closest friends. Marilyn left an indelible mark on everyone she encountered, radiating grace, dignity, kindness, fairness, and acceptance. She was preceded in death by her husband, Michael Malizia, and her son, Lorne Finch. Remembered as an extraordinary mother, she leaves behind her children, Ralph (Rhonda) and Christine (Tim), as well as her grandchildren, Michael (Kallie), Alexandra (Daniel), Dana (Johnston), Mitchell, Jacob, Avery, and Mark. Her great-granddaughter, Payton, affectionately referred to her as “GiGi”. Marilyn will be fondly missed by her nieces, nephews, lifelong friends, and members of the Malizia and Finch families.

She will forever be remembered as an exceptional mother to Ralph (Rhonda) and Christine (Tim), a loving grandmother to Michael (Kallie), Alexandra (Daniel), Dana (Johnston), Mitchell, Jacob, Avery, and Mark, a treasured great-grandmother to Payton, and a former mother-in-law to James.
