Marjorie Tomma Bedford (nee McCracken), aged 85, peacefully passed away at her home on October 17, 2023, surrounded by her loving family. Beloved wife of Leonard Bedford for an incredible 64 years, Marjorie was a devoted mother to Eileen (Marc) Proulx and Cameron Bedford. She took great pride in her role as a grandmother to Stephen and Natalie Proulx. Marjorie was the daughter of the late Thomas McCracken and Doris Grant, and stepdaughter of Morgan Hillis, all of Trenton.
Marjorie began her professional journey after attending Ontario Business College. It was at the Bata Shoe Company where she crossed paths with Leonard, and in 1959, they joined in matrimony. Following her tenure as the Office Manager at the Red Cross, Marjorie embarked on a new chapter of her life dedicated to volunteering and event organization for the Rednersville Albury Community Church, Eastern Star, Women’s Institute, and various other community groups. Known for her beautiful voice, Marjorie found joy in singing with the church choir and performing with the Country Church Players. She and Leonard also enjoyed exploring the world through their travels with friends, partaking in cruises and other tours. Marjorie’s passing leaves a void in the hearts of her family and extensive circle of friends.
The Funeral Service of Marjorie Tomma Bedford was held on October 21, 2023, at Burke Funeral Home, followed by her interment at Albury Cemetery. In memory of Marjorie, the family kindly requests donations to the Rednersville Albury Community Church, Shrine Hospital for Children Canada, or a charity of choice. Her legacy as a devoted wife, loving mother, doting grandmother, and active community member will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew her.
Rest in peace, dear Marjorie.
