Mary Catherine Lynch

It is with great sadness that the family of Mary Catherine Lynch announce her passing on November 6, 2023 at the age of 85 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital. Mary was born in Barnaby River, NB to Richard and Lucy Maloney. She graduated from high school and went on to work for the government in Fredericton, where she met her future husband, Neill F. Lynch. Later in life, she worked at the Harriet Irving Library as a library technician.

Mary is survived by her children and their spouses: Michael Lynch (Susan), Colleen Hamilton (Clark), Kevin Lynch (Wendy), Shawn Lynch (Janet), and her child by choice, Karen Foscarino. She also leaves behind her grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great-grandchildren, as well as her brothers Edward, Martin (Shirley), and Wayne Maloney, and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, parents, and brother William “Bill” Maloney.

Mary was a life member of the Greater Fredericton Women’s Institute, a member of Holy Family Parish, and took great pride in her Miramichi roots. She was an animal lover and enjoyed watching the wildlife in her backyard. The family is grateful for the care provided by Dr. Blyth, the staff of 3SW, and all those who assisted in Mary’s care.

Visitation for Mary will be at McAdam’s Funeral Home on Friday, November 10, from 7:00 – 9:00 pm, with Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated on Saturday, November 11, 2023 at 1:00 pm at Holy Family Catholic Church. She was predeceased by her husband, parents, and brother William “Bill” Maloney. Mary was a dedicated member of the Greater Fredericton Women’s Institute and Holy Family Parish. She will be remembered for her love of animals and pride in her Miramichi roots. The family would like to extend their gratitude to Dr. Blyth, the 3SW staff, and all those who cared for Mary.
