Mary DAER

Mary Daer, affectionately known as Betty, passed away on August 9, 2023, at the age of 82, in Clinton Public Hospital. She was preceded in death by her loving husband Joseph Daer, son Perry Daer, parents Jack and Isabel Alcock, brothers Ken, Ross, and Bill Alcock, stepbrothers Tom and Frank Alcock, and her Goddaughter (niece) Pamela Alcock Baker in 2018. Betty is survived by her son Dean and his wife Debra, their son Catlin, and Catlin’s daughter Alaena. She is also survived by her daughter Debbie Jones and her children Kevin and Jodi Jones, Randy Jones and his friend Malika Kelly, and Michael and Bobbie Jones. Betty leaves behind great-grandchildren Tristan and Taylor Jones, Reese, Hanna, and Payton Jones, as well as great-great-grandson Kastan. Grandson Tyler Daer also mourns her loss. Additionally, she is survived by her brother Muray and his wife Barb Alcock, sisters-in-law Carol and Cora Alcock, and daughter-in-law Shelley Jaco. Betty will be greatly missed by her nieces, nephews, best friend Marion Oke, travel companion, as well as her neighbor Deanna Delve, and many other friends and neighbors. Her kind and loving spirit touched the lives of many, and we were all truly blessed to have her in our lives.

Cremation has already taken place, and a family service will be held at the cemetery at a later date. The family will also be hosting a Celebration of Life at the Fish and Game Club in Clinton on Saturday, September 30 from 2-5 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to any charity of choice. We are saddened by her passing and mourn the loss of a truly remarkable soul. Betty was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Joseph Daer, her loving son, Perry Daer, her caring parents, Jack and Isabel Alcock, brothers Ken, Ross, and Bill Alcock, and her Goddaughter (niece), Pamela Alcock Baker, who passed away in 2018. Betty is survived by her devoted son, Dean, and his wife, Debra, their son, Catlin, and Catlin’s daughter, Alaena. Additionally, she leaves behind her daughter, Debbie Jones, and her four children, Kevin, Jodi, Randy, and Michael, and their families. Betty was a beloved great-grandmother to Tristan, Taylor, Reese, Hanna, and Payton, as well as a great-great-grandmother to Kastan. We also extend our condolences to her grandson, Tyler Daer, who is mourning the loss of his grandmother, Perry Daer. Furthermore, Betty is survived by her dear brother, Muray, and his wife, Barb Alcock, sisters-in-law Carol Alcock and Cora Alcock, and daughter-in-law Shelley Jaco. Her passing has left an irreplaceable void in the lives of her family, including nieces and nephews, her best friend and travel companion Marion Oke, as well as her neighbor and friend Deanna Delve. Betty will be greatly missed by all who knew her, as her presence brought joy and warmth to countless lives. We were truly blessed to have her in our lives.

The family has already held a cremation ceremony for Betty, and a private family service will be held at her resting place in the cemetery at a later date. We were privileged to have her in our lives.
