Mary Margaret Mangolt, formerly known as Mary Margaret Foster, passed away peacefully on October 30, 2023, in Woodstock, Ontario, her hometown. She was born on April 5, 1932 and lived a fulfilling life for 91 years. Mary was married to her beloved late husband, Joe Mangolt, who passed away in 1992. She was a proud mother to Mary Becker (Graham), Lyn Hough, Joe Mangolt Jr, Chris Martens, Mike Mangolt (Donna LeBlanc), and Josie Mangolt. Mary’s love extended to her grandchildren, Heather, Sonya, Ryan, Garrett, Derek, Kevin, Matt, Suzanne, and Jenn, who will always cherish the memories of her. She also enjoyed being a great-grandmother and valued every moment in that role. Mary is survived by her brother-in-law, George Mangolt, and was predeceased by her parents and five siblings. Mary’s occupation was deeply intertwined with the land, as she and Joe worked as farmers in Sweaburg, reflecting her hard work and dedication. Despite being a private person, Mary’s unwavering love for her family was evident in every aspect of her life. She led a simple and quiet lifestyle, finding solace in the company of her loved ones, prioritizing family over the external world. Mary found joy and fulfillment in the simple pleasures of life, treasuring the time spent with her family above all else. Friends are invited to pay their respects on Tuesday, November 7, 2023, at the Brock and Visser Funeral Home located at 845 Devonshire Ave. Visitation will be held from 10-11 a.m., followed by a memorial service in the funeral home chapel at 11 a.m. Interment will take place in St. Mary’s Cemetery. For those who desire, donations may be made in Mary’s memory to a charity of their choice.
