Maureen Gurr, born on August 9, 1942, sadly passed away on August 22, 2023, at the Kensington Retirement Residence in Oakville, Ontario. She was born in Hanna, Alberta to Iris and Jack Betty, and was preceded in death by her parents, as well as her loving husband, Reginald William Gurr. Maureen is survived by her daughters, Lisa Yukich (Mark) of Oakville and Kelli Couturier (Jerry) of Saline, MI, and her beloved grandchildren, Zoe Yukich and Marcel Couturier. Throughout her life, Maureen accompanied her husband Reg as he served in the Canadian Armed Forces, residing in various locations across the country, from Esquimalt to Oromocto to Petawawa. In 2017, she made the decision to settle in Oakville, Ontario, to be closer to her family.

Maureen was deeply devoted to her family, and she held a special place in her heart for the Dodgers and her cherished Yorkies. An ardent supporter of the Montreal Canadiens, she proudly displayed a photo of herself with Guy LaFleur, which adorned her wall since the day it was taken.

In memory of Maureen, the family kindly requests that donations be made to The Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 517, located at 3583 Petawawa Blvd. Petawawa, Ontario, Canada K8H 2Y1.
