Micheal (Mike) Reginald JOHNSON

With heavy hearts, the family of Michael (Mike) Reginald Johnson announces the passing of a much-loved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, son, brother and uncle.

Mike leaves behind his wife of 55 years, Linda, daughter Angie Arsenault-Daigle (Joel), son Kevin Johnson, grandchildren Taylor, Max and Alex Arsenault, Emily and Kaleigh Johnson, great-granddaughter Alayna Arsenault, sister Janet Orr (late Eugene), brother Jim Johnson (Marla) and sister-in-law Jeanette Maxwell-Cyr, as well as several nieces and nephews. He will also be missed by his furry companions Charlie and Augie.

Mike was affectionately known as “Gump” to his five grandchildren. He will always be remembered for his giving nature, his generosity and his sense of humour.

Mike enjoyed going to his cottage, which he designed and built, and had many wonderful travel adventures with Linda.

Mike was a 1966 graduate of Harrison Trimble High School and helped organize the 2016 50th class reunion. He was born and raised in Moncton and, after a few years working and living in Fredericton, returned to Moncton to work as a building inspector for the City of Moncton until retirement. He was also known for his gift of architecture and has many homes in the area that he designed.

Mike was predeceased by his parents, Gerald and Mayme (Shaffer) Johnson, brothers, Lorimer (Lou), Frederick (Fred), George (Bud), Dennis (Ding), Gerald (Gerry), Donald (Don) and Sterling as well as both his paternal and maternal grandparents and several aunts, uncles and cousins.

There will be no visitation or funeral as per Mike’s wishes. Cremation will be handled by Fair Haven Funeral Home and, for those who wish, contributions can be made to charity of your choice.
