Mildred Miles
Mildred Lorraine (Chard) Miles, aged 96, passed away on September 23, 2023. It is with deep sorrow that we announce her departure, but also with comfort knowing that she has been reunited with her beloved husband Edwin, who passed away in 2013, after sharing 57 beautiful years of marriage. Lorraine is survived by her children, John, Ed, and his wife Linda, as well as her late daughter Melody (2019) and her husband Bill. She leaves behind her beloved granddaughters Charlotte and Olivia Miles, whom she cherished dearly.
Lorraine was preceded in death by her parents, Mildred and Thomas Chard, as well as her sisters Marilyn and Judith. However, she is survived by her sister Glenda Banyai, sister-in-law Marilyn Robbins, nephew Robert Banyai, and niece Lynn Hajdu and her husband Frank, along with many other nieces and nephews.
Throughout her life, Lorraine had a successful career as a legal assistant for renowned Windsor lawyer, Harold Bick, before transitioning her expertise to the Ontario Provincial Court. During retirement, Lorraine indulged in her passion for ballroom dancing alongside her husband. She also found solace and companionship at the Scottish Club, where she spent quality time with her friends. Known for her independence and diligent work ethic, Lorraine always prioritized providing care and stability for her family. Even in her eighties and nineties, she never ceased to marvel her granddaughters by chasing them around the house, partaking in playful catch sessions, and preparing elaborate Christmas dinners.
Lorraine’s absence has left a void in the hearts of her family, as well as countless friends and coworkers who will miss her dearly. In accordance with her wishes, no service or visitation was held to commemorate her life.
