Minnie KENNY

Minnie Ruth Kenny, born on November 22, 1946, peacefully passed away on October 1, 2023, at the Kingston General Hospital with her family by her side. She was 77 years old. Minnie was the beloved wife of Lorne Douglas Kenny. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ray and Edna Babcock, her sister Corrine King (Bernie), and brothers-in-law Brian and Gordon Kenny. Minnie is survived by her sister Joanna Ball (Garnet), brother Chet Babcock (Sandy), sisters-in-law Barbara Kenny and Linda Borger (Albert), and brother-in-law Bruce Kenny (Brenda). She will be dearly missed by numerous nephews and nieces.

Minnie Ruth Kenny spent her early years on a farm in RR1 Godfrey, Ontario. After her marriage to Douglas in 1996, they resided on the Kenny farm in Inverary, ON. Minnie had a profound love for country life. She actively participated in building the cabin near Dog and Cranberry Lakes and creating walking trails throughout the woodlot. Minnie dedicated over 30 years of her working life as a legal secretary in the law office of Geraldine Tepper. Additionally, she found joy in traveling with friends and family and nurturing her garden at home.

The family would like to express their gratitude to the caring and compassionate staff at the Bayshore Transitional Unit in Amherstview and KGH Kidd6 for their exceptional care during Minnie’s stay at both facilities. In accordance with her wishes, Minnie’s remains have been cremated. The interment will be held at a later date in Pine Grove Cemetery, Brewer’s Mills, during a private family service. Memorial donations, if desired, can be made to the Alzheimer’s Society. The James Reid Funeral Home will handle the funeral arrangements.
