Napoleon A. (Leon) Rebryna

Napoleon A. Rebryna, also known as Leon, peacefully passed away on September 19, 2023, at the age of 96 in Calgary, AB. He had a remarkable and extensive career with the Edmonton Public School Board. Beginning as a teacher in 1962, he later went on to become an administrator, department head, and assistant principal in various high schools in Edmonton and the surrounding regions. In 1977, Leon became the Principal of Harry Ainlay Composite High School and retired in 1984.

Leon will always be cherished in the hearts of his loved ones, including his wife of 73 years, Mary. He is also survived by his daughter Dr. Diane Rebryna (Anast Demitt) and his son Dale Rebryna (Renee). Unfortunately, his son Dean passed away in 2018. Alongside his immediate family, Leon leaves behind his step-granddaughters, Carolyn Demitt (Michael Chachula) and Kaylah Wohlgemuth (Dustin), as well as his great-grandchildren, Greyson and Jaxon.

To honor the memory of Leon Rebryna, a tree will be planted in the Ann & Sandy Cross Conservation Area.
