Pat WAITE

Pat Garnet Waite, aged 92, peacefully passed away on September 29, 2023, at the St. Thomas Elgin General Hospital. Pat was a devoted husband to Kay (Catherine) Waite, whom he was married to for an impressive 71 years. He was a loving father to Beverly Caley (predeceased) (Robert), Nancy Hunter (Hugh), Janet Waite, Susan Pertout (Boris), and Richard Waite (Deb). Pat’s parents, Thomas Edward Waite and Allie May Waite (Douglas), as well as his brothers Cecil, Elmer, and Grant, preceded him in death. He leaves behind a legacy of love, being survived by his grandchildren Jennifer, Michael, Laura, Joshua, Jacob, Cheri, Dillon, Lowgan, and Tim, as well as his great-grandchildren Aedan, MacKenzie, Kiara, Declan, Emily, Allison, Jace, Cash, Audrey, Ruby, Emery, and Isabel.

Throughout his life, Pat remained a steadfast resident of Elgin County. Together with Kay, he dedicated many years to farming. Pat was also known for his skill as a carpenter, honing his craft for several decades. His work was highly regarded within his community, where he built a reputation as an accomplished carpenter.

The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to the caring staff on the 4th floor of St. Thomas Elgin General Hospital, as well as Dr. Cieslak, for their exceptional care and support during this difficult time.

Visitation to celebrate Pat’s life will be held at Dunwich United Church in Dutton, ON, on Thursday, October 5, 2023, from 12 to 2 p.m., immediately followed by the funeral service. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to be made to Dunwich United Church or any charity of choice. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Arn Funeral Home in Dutton, ON.
