Patrick Cameron Routledge&nbsp(Cam)

Patrick Cameron Routledge, affectionately known as Cam, passed away on April 24, 2024, with family by his side. In Cam’s own words, “I have lived a great life”.

Cam was never shy to share and express gratitude for his life experiences. His passion for travel ignited early when he embarked on a voyage from Vancouver to Southampton with his Auntie Louise in the summer of 1965, sparking a lifelong love for exploring the world.

After graduating from U.B.C. with a double major in economics and math, Cam began his professional journey with Pacific Western Airlines as a customer service agent, dedicating 13 years to the company. It was during this time that he forged enduring friendships that enriched his life.

A pinnacle moment in Cam’s career was as the Director of Overseas Marketing for Tourism B.C. He told stories of splendid Rendezvous events across Canada, reminisced about hosting an elegant black-tie reception at the Dorchester in London, and exuded unmatched excitement for his role in the 2010 Vancouver Winter Olympics.

Amidst his professional achievements, Cam found equal joy in his personal life, particularly during winters spent in Honolulu at the Ilikai. Strolls along Kailua Beach, leisurely mornings by the pool with treasured friends, and gatherings over Mai Tais at the Halekulani were cherished highlights of these seasons. He also took great pleasure on many a ski trip and was always eager to take you for a ride in his two-seater sports car. After retirement, Cam found connection and purpose at Friends for Life where he worked as a volunteer for many years.

Above all, Cam loved sharing the ever-changing vista from his condo, where he delighted in the view of the lights and shimmering waters, a constant reminder of life’s beauty. May the lights never dim and the waters always shimmer for you Cam.
