Paul Aloys Brunner, affectionately known as Al, passed away after a short illness. He was born in Scapa, Alberta to Frank and Theresa Brunner, and was the fifth child out of nine siblings.

On August 1, 1953, Al married Doreen Dodd. Together, they built a family and were blessed with four children: Diane (Dan) Phillips, Susan (Elmer) Thiessen, Brian (Rachel) Brunner, and Dwayne (Elizabeth) Brunner.

Throughout his career, Al dedicated his working years to Gulf Oil, starting in 1953 and retiring from Petro Canada in 1989.

Al and Doreen found solace in their faith, initially attending Bethel Baptist Church where they forged lifelong friendships. Al played a pivotal role in leading the Christian Service Brigade program and played a part in establishing Camp TeePee Pole. Later, they moved to Ambassador Baptist, now known as Varsity Bible Church.

Al led a meaningful life and was guided by his strong faith. He will be forever remembered and cherished.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the Mustard Seed or Hope Mission would be appreciated. To learn more about Al’s life and leave a tribute, please visit [https://mhfh.com/](https://mhfh.com/).

A Memorial Service to honor Al’s life will be held on August 25, 2023, at 1:30 p.m. at Varsity Bible Church, located at 4807 Valiant Dr. NW, Calgary, Alberta.
