Paul Haining

December 25, 1955 – July 16, 2023

Paul Haining, who was born on December 25, 1955 in New Brunswick, passed away unexpectedly from heart failure on Sunday, July 16, 2023. He peacefully departed this world in his home, with his loving partner Mo by his side. Paul, who was the cherished only child of Ted and Eva Hainin, leaves behind his son Jerry Jeff Haining and fiancé Heather Waterman, his lifelong partner Mo McEown, cousin Nonie Trail Taylor and their family in Sudbury, Ontario, as well as relatives in Fredericton and Maine. His loss will be deeply felt by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Throughout his life, Paul immersed himself in the world of performing arts, devoting his talents to music as a singer, songwriter, and guitarist on stage, or as a dedicated stage crew member behind the scenes. His insurmountable passion for his craft allowed him to spend the majority of his existence doing what he loved most. Known for his kindness and generosity, he touched the lives of everyone he crossed paths with. A loyal partner in life and a loving father, Paul will be remembered for his unwavering love and care.

In memory of Paul Haining, donations can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation—a cause that he held close to his heart. A Celebration of Paul’s Life will take place on Sunday, August 20, from 2-5:30 at Irene’s Pub, located at 885 Bank St, Ottawa.
