Penelope Allison (Penny)

April 25, 1932

June 7, 2023

Penelope Allison, aged 91, passed away peacefully at Peace Arch Hospital on June 7, 2023. She is survived by her son-in-law, Ron Harman, grandson Jared Harman, granddaughter-in-law Lindsey Harman, granddaughter Chelsea Harman, and her three great-grandchildren, Colton, Grace, and Pierce. Sadly, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, James Allison, her son, Gray Allison, and her daughter, Dianne Harman.

Born in Edmonton, Penelope spent most of her life in Vancouver, where she met her soulmate, Jimmy. Despite the numerous losses she endured, including the passing of both her children nearly half a century apart, Penelope lived a long and fulfilling life. Although she projected a strong and resilient demeanor as the head of her family, Penelope knew how to enjoy herself, often indulging in a glass of wine or three throughout her day.

Penelope dedicated herself to the family business, Mr. Mike’s Steakhouse and The Sirloiner, before retiring in Kitsilano. In her leisure time, she delighted in playing bridge with her close friends. For the last seven years of her life, Penelope moved to South Surrey to be nearer to her daughter and grandchildren. Known affectionately as “Morning” by those closest to her, Penelope’s presence will be dearly missed.

A celebration of life will be held at Penelope’s home in South Surrey, hosted by Jared and Lindsey, on Monday, August 7th at 2pm.
