Peter Bruce Weale, age 94, peacefully passed away at his residence in Southampton on September 21, 2023. He was the loving husband of Gloria Weale and a cherished father to Susan (Kitchener Dawe) and Paul (Veronica). Peter was also a stepfather to Gloria’s sons, David and Neil (Shirin) Park. He is survived by his sisters, Betty Anne and Carole (George) Snider. Peter will be fondly remembered by his grandchildren, Trevor, Leslie, Melissa, Michael, Kelly, as well as his four great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his parents, Bert and Betty Weale, and his former wife, Ruth Langton Weale.

Peter pursued his academic endeavors at the University of Toronto, focusing on Commerce and Finance. He dedicated his working years to the family-owned business, Modern Caster, located in Concord, Ontario. Between the years 1967 and 1991, he actively served as a member of the Rotary Club of Vaughan. After retiring in 1993, Peter settled in Southampton, where he enjoyed various recreational activities such as curling, lawn bowling, and recording the sounds of loons on Arran Lake. He was an engaged member of the Probus Club and the United Church in Southampton. Peter found joy in playing bridge, organizing trips for seniors at the Chantry Centre, and contributing to the establishment of the Women’s Probus Club of Saugeen Shores. Throughout the years, he cultivated strong friendships with individuals in Southampton and Port Elgin.

Cremation has been conducted, and the interment of Peter’s ashes will take place at a later date at York Cemetery in Toronto. Those who wish to honor Peter’s memory may consider making memorial donations to the Saugeen Memorial Hospital Foundation. The Eagleson Funeral Home in Southampton has been entrusted with the arrangements.
