Ralph Harding

Our beloved patriarch, a man whose strength and presence defined our family, passed away on Thursday, November 2nd, 2023. He was not only a wonderful Dad, Grampy, Great Grampy, brother, brother-in-law, and uncle, but also a source of immense pride and luck for us. We were truly blessed to have him as our father. Surviving him are his children whom he adored: Graeme (Roddie), Cheryl (Denis), and Scott (Angela). Additionally, his cherished grandchildren and adored great-grandchildren, who brought immense joy and light to his life, mourn his loss. His siblings, Philip Harding (Irma) and Ann Parent (Don), sister-in-law Margaret Wilkins, and brother-in-law Robert Wilkins (Georgie), were also special and devoted to him.

Sadly, our loved one was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Marilyn Harding, and he struggled to find happiness without her. The passing of his parents, Ralph Sr. and Mabel Harding, and daughter-in-law Tina Harding also weighed heavily on his heart. Furthermore, he mourned the loss of many brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, and dear friends.

He will be remembered as a compassionate and sensitive man, always putting family first and offering valuable guidance and encouragement until his final days. Though some may describe him as a man of few words, we discovered in the past two years that perhaps he didn’t have enough opportunities to express himself. When he did speak, his words carried great wisdom and meaning, captivating our attention. His deep laughter was infectious and became emblematic of his warm spirit. Dad, we treasure the memories shared with you, and your absence is already deeply felt.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his memory to the Lung Association, Heart & Stroke Foundation, or any preferred charity. Honoring his wishes, there will be no funeral or visitation. Instead, a private family burial will take place as he wished.
