On October 26, 2023, the world mourned the loss of Randal Terrance Reichel, a beloved individual who played multiple significant roles in the lives of those around him. At the age of 72, Randy peacefully passed away in Westlock, Alberta, leaving behind a lifetime of invaluable memories. His departure has created a void felt deeply by his family, friends, and the community. The remarkable bond shared between Randy and his wife, Barbara Johnson-Reichel, endured for over two decades, blossoming into a captivating love story that touched the hearts of many. Together, they created a haven that brought joy to countless individuals, particularly their fourteen grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Randy is survived by his loving children, Julie (Mike) Gottselig, Jae (Faith) Reichel, Neil (Justina) Reichel, Katherine (Oliver) Reichel, Rachel (Duncan) Reichel, along with his stepchildren Jesse (Elise) Coleman and Caitlin Coleman. His brother Gordon (Judy) Reichel and sister Joan Mang will continue to cherish his memory. Randy will now be reunited with his cherished son Colin Reichel, as well as his parents, Walter and Hedwig Reichel.

Randy possessed an innate charm that set him apart from all others. His mere presence in a room could ignite laughter, accompanied by a harmonious melody. His extensive travels gifted him with fascinating stories that captivated the imagination of his audience. Not only was he a storyteller, but he had a talent for fixing and constructing anything that came his way. His melodious voice and captivating karaoke performances touched the essence of countless hearts. Always a charismatic individual, Randy’s dedication and passion shone brightly during his role as an exceptional salesman, particularly with his recent position at Webb’s Machinery. He was highly regarded in the farming community for his unwavering commitment to serving others. Randy found solace and comradery in the Westlock Legion, an institution that provided him with lifelong friendships. His larger-than-life persona will be dearly missed by all fortunate enough to have crossed paths with him.

A prayer service in honor and remembrance of Randy will be held on November 9, 2023, at 2:00 PM at the Westlock Funeral Home, located at 10004-105 Street, Westlock, Alberta. Additionally, a second celebration of Randy’s life will be held in Edenwold, Saskatchewan, in the spring of 2024. This event will serve as a tribute to his roots and the profound impact he had during his lifetime.
