Raymond Hickey

Raymond Jerry Hickey, a resident of Tay Creek, New Brunswick, passed away on September 30, 2023, at his home in Tay Creek. He was born on August 20, 1948, in Fredericton, New Brunswick, to Alfreda “Freda” (MacKinnon) and the late Jeremiah Hickey.

Raymond dedicated a significant portion of his life as a Civil Servant, specifically within the Military for Veterans Affairs, serving the Federal Government. He was a devout member of Sterling United Church in Tay Creek, where he found solace and fulfillment. Raymond enjoyed various hobbies, including gardening, reading, and his deep love for animals.

Raymond is survived by his mother, Alfreda “Freda” Hickey, his sister, Margaret Hickey, five nieces and nephews, as well as several grand nieces and nephews. Sadly, his father, Jeremiah Hickey, and his brother, James Hickey, preceded him in death.

Family and friends are invited to pay their respects during the visitation at York Funeral Home’s T. Gordon MacLeod Memorial Chapel on Saturday, October 7, 2023, from 1 to 2 pm. The Funeral Service, officiated by Rev. Brian DeLong, will follow at 2 pm. Raymond will be laid to rest at the Sterling United Church Cemetery in Tay Creek, New Brunswick, following the service.
