He peacefully passed away at the age of 82 in Athabasca, AB, with his loving wife Irene at his side, following a brief battle with cancer. Richard is survived by his devoted wife of 62 years, Irene, and their three children: Suzanne Tillapaugh, Monique (Robert) Cyr, and Marcel (Cindy) Maurier. Known as “Pépère” to his grandchildren Rogelle (Joel) Himschoot, Sylvie (Kyle) Coxen, Paul Cyr, Dennis (Brianne) Cyr, Samantha Maurier, and seven great-grandchildren, Dakota, Marissa, Dana Himschoot, Keira, Cohen Coxen, and Vivian, Fletcher Cyr. Richard’s memory will be cherished by his siblings, in-laws, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Leo and Jeanne Maurier, his son Donald Maurier, and his son-in-law, Forest Tillapaugh.
