Richard Riehl

Richard Donald Riehl, affectionately known as Gary (Bear), was born on February 27, 1947, and sadly passed away on June 11, 2023. It is with great sadness that we announce the departure of this beloved man, who was not only a cherished father, husband, brother, uncle, and friend but also a prominent figure in the transport and construction industries. Gary’s unwavering passion for trucks and machinery was evident throughout his lifelong career. Additionally, he had a deep fondness for custom vehicles, off-roading, and animals, as well as an unbreakable bond with his friends and family. Live music held a special place in his heart, especially when performed by loved ones.

Gary leaves behind a grieving wife, Linda Riehl, and a son named Robin Riehl. Furthermore, he leaves behind nieces Tiffy Riehl, Stacey Sawyshyn-Finnson, Chellie Nighttravelor, and Melanie Nighttravelor, as well as nephews Scott Sawyshyn, Trevor Riehl, and Neal Nighttravelor, along with their children. Lastly, among his mourners are numerous dear friends, and most notably, his cherished canine companion, Chewwy.

Preceding Gary in death were his first wife, Evelyn Lydia Riehl (Sawyshyn), his parents William Gordon Riehl and Rena Riehl (Brisebois), and his brother, Lee Riehl. The loss of Gary has left a void in the lives of all who knew him, and his memory will forever remain etched in their hearts.
