Rita Marie Fairley (nee Leblanc) passed away peacefully at her home on August 19, 2023, at the age of 90. She was the daughter of Joseph and Leonie Leblanc. Rita was a loving mother to Neil Fairley, David Fairley (Susan), Colleen McRae (Brian), Gary Fairley, the late Donald Fairley, Carol-Anne Parsons, Mae Monforton (Ron), and the late Anne Marie Fairley. She was a cherished meme to Joel Poirier (Courtney), Jessica Paluca (Mikel), Rhiannon Fairley (Mike), J.D. Parsons, Craig Parsons (Kaitlyn), Stephanie Fairley, Adam Fairley, Heather Parsons (Chris), Nolan Fairley, and Kallen Fairley. Rita was a dear great-meme to Jordan, Kalynn, Lyla, Elliana, Aubrey, Bradley, Adrian, D’Andre, and Nora. Rita had numerous siblings, including Marguerite (late Jim), late Roland (Monique), late Janet (late Spike), late Leo (late Mary), late Roger (Cathy), Marcella (Bob), Virginia (Roy), Aline (late Ferd), Gloria (late Ken), Noella (late Lynn), and Connie (Bill). She was a lifelong friend of the late Elaine and late Gerry Thompson, Ken and Mary Lou Bezaire, Wonita and the late Russ Desautelle, Frank and Ginni McNicholis. Rita and her husband Donald were known for opening their hearts and home to foster children. She was a devoted member of the Catholic Women’s League (CWL) and the Alzheimer’s Society. Rita had a passion for hockey and baseball. The family would like to extend a special thanks to Amy, Amber, and Dawn from Saint Elizabeth Health Care for their kind and compassionate care.

Visitation for Rita will take place on Wednesday, August 23, 2023, at Windsor Chapel Funeral Home – Banwell Location, between 2:00 and 5:00 p.m. and 7:00 and 9:00 p.m. Parish prayers and the Knights of Columbus service will commence at 7:30 p.m. Family and friends are invited to gather directly at St. John the Evangelist Parish on Thursday, August 24, 2023, for the Mass of Christian Burial at 11:30 a.m. Rita will be laid to rest at St. John the Evangelist Cemetery. Rita was married to her beloved late husband, Donald Fairley, for an impressive 69 years. Their marriage was filled with love and friendship until Donald’s passing in 2021. Rita was a doting mother to her children Neil Fairley, David Fairley (Susan), Colleen McRae (Brian), Gary Fairley, the late Donald Fairley, Carol-Anne Parsons, Mae Monforton (Ron), and the late Anne Marie Fairley. She held a special place in her heart for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who lovingly referred to her as meme and great-meme. Rita was also a devoted sister to her siblings Marguerite, Roland, Janet, Leo, Roger, Marcella, Virginia, Aline, Gloria, Noella, and Connie. She shared lifelong friendships with Elaine and Gerry Thompson, Ken and Mary Lou Bezaire, Wonita and Russ Desautelle, and Frank and Ginni McNicholis. Rita and Donald’s loving and generous nature extended to numerous foster children who found solace in their home. Her involvement in the Catholic Women’s League (CWL) and the Alzheimer’s Society showcased her commitment to serving others. Rita also had a deep love for hockey and baseball, which she passionately supported. She actively participated in the Catholic Women’s League (CWL) and supported the Alzheimer’s Society. Rita was a passionate follower of hockey and baseball.
