In loving memory of Rita Marie Rose Chartier (nee Turgeon), who passed away on September 27, 2023, at the age of 77, after bravely fighting cancer at Health Sciences North. Rita was the beloved wife of Richard Chartier for 25 years, and was previously married to Gary Dagenais until his passing in 1990. She was a cherished mother to Daniel Dagenais (Kim), and a caring stepmother to Steven Chartier (Pamela) and Sharon Punkari (Brent). Rita was a proud grandmother to Kyle, Cody, Katrina, Eric, Chad, Natalie, and Adelle, and a loving great grandmother to Myla and Holly. She was predeceased by her parents, Philias and Lucienne Turgeon (nee Robillard), as well as her brother, Richard. Rita will be fondly remembered as a devoted mother, grandmother, and aunt. Her grandchildren brought immense joy to her life, and she took great pleasure in attending their sports activities. She was a social person and her happiness knew no bounds when she was surrounded by family and friends. The family has requested that there be no visitation or service and she will be cremated at the Park Lawn Crematorium, with her burial in the Civic Cemetery. Rita was a devoted mother to Daniel Dagenais (Kim), and she also embraced her role as a stepmother to Steven Chartier (Pamela) and Sharon Punkari (Brent). Her heart overflowed with love for her grandchildren, Kyle, Cody, Katrina, Eric, Chad, Natalie, and Adelle, and she experienced great happiness as a great grandmother to Myla and Holly. Rita’s parents, Philias and Lucienne Turgeon (nee Robillard), as well as her brother Richard, preceded her in death. She leaves behind her siblings, Ronald Turgeon (Judy) and Edouard Turgeon (Gail), and she was an aunt figure to Denis Turgeon (Laura) and Michelle Briand (Nick). Rita was known for her deep love for her family, and she especially delighted in attending her grandchildren’s sports events. She was a naturally sociable person who found fulfillment in the company of her loved ones. To honor Rita’s wishes, there will not be any visitation or service.
