Robert Allan Baturin, also known as Bob, was born on October 23, 1940, in Canora, Saskatchewan. He relocated to Winnipeg with his family during his early childhood. After completing high school, he pursued his engineering degree at the University of Manitoba and later earned his MBA degree from Simon Fraser University. Throughout his professional journey in Civil Engineering, he and his family experienced multiple relocations, from Ontario to British Columbia. Ultimately, Bob established his own company, Deltaic Testing and Engineering, in Vancouver and Chilliwack.

Bob was an esteemed member of the Vancouver Welsh Men’s Choir and the Tsawwassen United Church choir for numerous years. Following his retirement, he and his wife Carole moved to Kelowna to be closer to their family. During his time there, Bob actively participated in the Okanagan Symphony Chorus and Gospel Praise, showcasing his love for singing. He also indulged in his passions for golf and skiing, and cherished every opportunity for travel, with frequent trips to Europe and various other destinations. Above all, Bob held immense pride for his family.

Survived by his wife Carole (Dunn), with whom he celebrated 62 years of marriage in September, Bob is also survived by their children Jeff, Karen (John), and Greg (Anita). Additionally, he leaves behind his beloved grandchildren Sara (Jordan), Amy (Mathias), Devan (Tess), Ryan (Tamika), and Matt (Bailey), as well as his cherished great grandsons Rowan and Arlo. Bob is also survived by his brother Jack and his family in Winnipeg, and his brother-in-law Bill Dunn and his family in Burnaby. Numerous cousins and friends also mourn his loss.

In accordance with Bob’s wishes, he has been cremated, and a family celebration of life will be held in November. The family extends deep gratitude to the excellent 6 West team and Doctor Penner at Kelowna General. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Kelowna Hospital Foundation (https://www.kghfoundation.com), Parkinson’s Society of B.C.
