Robert BICKELL

Bob Bickell, aged 98, passed away on Saturday, November 4, 2023. He is survived by his 4 daughters: Colleen (Peter), Louise, Patricia (Mike), and Sandy (Barry); sister, Beverly (Bill); and brother, Jim (Blanca). He was predeceased by his wife, Alice, in 2016, one brother, Ron, and one sister, Dorothy. He is also survived by 9 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren, as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Bob grew up in the Alberta prairies during the Great Depression and joined the Air Force in 1941. After the war, he worked at AGT (now Telus) where he met and married Alice. He retired from AGT in 1980 and was known as a proud HAM operator, VE6RT. Bob enjoyed fishing, canoeing, woodworking, and was known for growing the biggest BIG BEEF tomatoes in Calgary. In his final 5 years, he lived at Riverbend Revera Retirement Home where he cherished the exceptional care and friendship he received.

Cremation was held at Hainstock’s Funeral and Crematorium in Edmonton. A service will be held on Saturday, November 18 at 11 a.m. MST at Hainstock’s Funeral Home, 9810 34 Ave NW, Edmonton. Bob is remembered as a loving husband, father, and grandfather who will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
