Robert BOOTH

BOOTH, Bob (Robert) Edward, age 78, passed away on August 18, 2023. He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Carol Ann Booth (Burchill), and his sons Stephen Booth and Andrew Booth. Bob was a cherished grandfather to Connor Booth and Reghan Booth, and a beloved brother to Barbara Booth and Brian Booth.

Bob’s childhood in Ottawa was filled with memorable experiences of hunting and fishing alongside his Uncle Ed at the family cottage in Constance Bay. At just 16 years old, he restored his first Model A, showcasing his early talent and passion for automobiles. Bob pursued his love for the outdoors by attending the Ontario Forest Technical Training School in Dorset, Ontario, where he acquired the skills to transform his hobby into a successful career.

In 1975, Bob established Booth Auto Restoration. Renowned for his exceptional craftsmanship, artistic flair, and extensive knowledge of automotive history, he turned seemingly insignificant scraps into remarkable hot rods and complete restorations. Bob’s dedication and skill earned him well-deserved respect within the industry.

Family and friends are warmly invited to pay their respects at the Highland Park Visitation Centre, located at 2037 McGee Side Road, Carp, on Sunday, August 27, 2023, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. A memorial service will be held at the Highland Park Remembrance Chapel on Monday, August 28, at 11 a.m. Following the service, a Celebration of Life will take place, where attendees are encouraged to display their own hot rods and classic cars in honor of Bob’s passion and expertise.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to the Ottawa Heart Institute, reflecting Bob’s caring nature and dedication to ensuring the well-being of others.
