Robert “Bing” Crosbie, a resident of Simcoe, Ontario, passed away on Thursday, August 17, 2023, at the age of 66. Surrounded by his loving family, Bing will be deeply missed. He leaves behind his devoted wife of 39 years, Bev, and their children Katelyn, David, and Michael. Bing’s grandchildren, Hannah, Lucas, and Carter, adored their beloved Papa and will forever miss his warm bear hugs. Born to Jack and Joyce Crosbie in Smith Falls, Bing was a loving brother to Margaret, Marilyn, and William. He will be fondly remembered by Bev’s family, including her mother Ruth Rae and brother Brian Rae. Bing touched the lives of many extended family members and friends.

Bing was known for his kind, supportive, and devoted nature as a husband and father. He possessed a quiet strength that made him a pillar in his family’s life. Holding a degree in Civil Engineering from Queens University, Bing worked as a Project Manager with Ontario Power Generation for 34 years. Outside of his professional life, he found joy in his hobbies, including photography, music, cooking, and traveling. However, his greatest source of happiness came from spending quality time with his family and being near the water.

A celebration of Bing’s life will take place on Friday, August 25, 2023, at the Jason Smith Funeral Chapel in Simcoe. The event will be held from 2:00-4:00 p.m., with personal reflections shared at 3:00 p.m. In memory of Robert, donations may be made to the Canadian Blood Services or Juravinski Hospital. The family would like to express their gratitude to the compassionate nurses and medical staff at Juravinski for their dedicated care throughout Bing’s challenging battle with AML.
