Robert William Pitts, lovingly known as Bob, passed away on October 26, 2023, in Calgary, Alberta, at the age of 92. He was born on August 12, 1931, in Nelson, British Columbia, to Swea and Herbert Pitts. Bob will always be remembered for his adventurous spirit, quick wit, and sense of humor, which made gatherings with family and friends truly enjoyable. He treated everyone with grace and respect, despite his mischievous nature and love for practical jokes. Bob taught his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren the importance of finding the positive side of any situation. Family meant the world to him, and he will be dearly missed by his loving children: Lori Bright of Upland, California; Jim and wife Candy of Winston-Salem, North Carolina; Cathy and husband Dean Roy of Calgary; Robert and wife Jacquelyne of San Juan Capistrano, California; Tom and wife Cheryl of San Francisco, California. Bob adored his 15 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren, cherishing every moment spent with them. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 56 years, Marjory, his daughter Jennifer, his mother Swea, his father Herbert, his brother Herb, and sister Doreen. A Celebration of Bob’s life will be held on November 3, 2023, at Foster’s Garden Chapel in Calgary. In memory of Bob’s personal connection to the cause, contributions can be made to The Arthritis Society of Alberta & NWT Division. Bob’s legacy will forever be remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him. His humor, dedication, and generosity will continue to inspire and warm the hearts of those whose lives he touched.

A Celebration of Bob’s life will take place on November 3, 2023, at Foster’s Garden Chapel in Calgary.
