Roland GAGNON

Roland Joseph Gagnon, affectionately known as Rolly, peacefully passed away at the Pembroke Regional Hospital on Friday, October 27, 2023 at the age of 87. He was the beloved husband of the late Harriett Lila Gagnon (nee Neville) and the proud father of John Gagnon. Rolly was an incredibly loving and devoted grandfather to his grandchildren Joseph, Ivy, Henry, and Elijah. He will be forever remembered as a dear brother to Felice Desmarais, Catherine Easterbrook, Marcel Gagnon, Germaine Flaxman, Jeannine Campbell, and Gerry Gagnon. Rolly was also a cherished brother-in-law to Harry Jr. Neville, Lorne Neville, Lianne Clark, Maureen Belland, Kathy Neville, and Paul Neville.

Rolly was preceded in death by his parents, Philias and Julienne Gagnon, as well as his siblings John Gagnon and Annette Robinson. He was also preceded in death by his brother-in-law Reverend Grant Neville. Rolly’s passing is mourned by numerous nieces, nephews, and their families who were blessed by his presence. The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to Pinewood Retirement Home, Carefor, Miramichi Lodge, and the Pembroke Regional Hospital for taking wonderful care of Rolly during his final days.

Relatives and friends are invited to pay their respects at the Neville Funeral Home, located at 491 Isabella St., Pembroke, on Thursday, November 2, 2023, from 5-8 p.m. A Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Our Lady of Lourdes Church in Pembroke on Friday, November 3, 2023, at 10 a.m. Rolly’s final resting place will be in St. Columba’s Cemetery, Pembroke. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to St. Joseph’s Food Bank as a meaningful expression of sympathy. Rolly will be remembered as a man of unwavering faith and extraordinary humility, and his absence will be keenly felt by all who knew and loved him.
