Roland GAGNON

Roland Joseph Gagnon, affectionately known as Rolly, passed away peacefully in his 88th year at the Pembroke Regional Hospital on October 27, 2023. He was the beloved husband of Harriett Lila Gagnon (nee Neville), who had preceded him in death. Rolly was a devoted father to John Gagnon and a proud grandfather to Joseph, Ivy, Henry, and Elijah. He will be deeply missed by his siblings Felice Desmarais, Catherine Easterbrook, Marcel Gagnon, Germaine Flaxman, Jeannine Campbell, and Gerry Gagnon. Rolly was also survived by his brothers-in-law Harry Jr. Neville, Lorne Neville, and Paul Neville, and sisters-in-law Lianne Clark, Maureen Belland, and Kathy Neville. He was predeceased by his parents Philias and Julienne Gagnon, his brother John Gagnon, sister Annette Robinson, and brother-in-law Reverend Grant Neville. Rolly will be fondly remembered by his numerous nieces, nephews, and their families, and the family is grateful for the exceptional care he received from Pinewood Retirement Home, Carefor, Miramichi Lodge, and the Pembroke Regional Hospital.

Relatives and friends are invited to pay their respects at the Neville Funeral Home in Pembroke on November 2, 2023, from 5-8 p.m. A Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will take place at Our Lady of Lourdes Church in Pembroke on November 3, 2023, at 10 a.m. Rolly will be laid to rest at St. Columba’s Cemetery in Pembroke. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to St. Joseph’s Food Bank in his memory. Rolly, a man of strong faith and remarkable humility, will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
