Roland Albert Joseph Lacasse was born on September 20, 1929, in Fraser Mills, BC. He peacefully passed away at the age of 94 on October 22, 2023, in his own home in New Westminster, BC. Roland grew up in New Westminster, where he attended school, established a business, and raised his family. After running MacLean Automotive for several years, he dedicated the rest of his career to the City of New Westminster, working as a mechanic and Superintendent of the City Garage. Roland cherished spending quality time with his loved ones and embraced nature through activities like camping, fishing, skiing, and being on the water.

Not only was Roland a beloved figure in his family, but he was also deeply respected by the Catholic community of New Westminster. Throughout his life, he upheld his faith and contributed greatly to St Peters Catholic Church. Roland will be remembered for his gentle nature, calm disposition, and sense of humor, all of which will be sorely missed.

Roland is survived by his adoring wife of 63 years, Louisa (Bisson), his sister Lorraine Gordon, his three daughters: Joanne (Stephen) Pal, Claudette Lacasse, Linda (Donald) Kirkpatrick, as well as his six grandchildren: Danika, Caitlyn, Nicole, Meagan, Tanner, and Lauren. Additionally, he leaves behind three great-grandchildren: Emma, Zoe, and Charli. Sadly, Roland was preceded in death by his sister Pauline Huiras.

A funeral mass will be held to honor Roland’s life on Friday, November 3, 2023, at St Peter’s Catholic Church at 12:00 p.m. A reception will follow in the hall, and prayers will be held the evening before, November 2, 2023, at 7 p.m. at St Peters Church. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Covenant House in Vancouver or the Heart and Stroke Foundation. To offer your condolences, please sign the guestbook at http://www.kearneyfs.com.
