Rolande Gallant

Rolande Gallant, an 87-year-old resident of Résidence Oasis in Dieppe, New Brunswick, passed away on July 31st, 2023 at the Dr. Georges-L.-Dumont University Hospital Center in Moncton. Rolande was born in Scoudouc and was the daughter of Lucien and Elizabeth Bourque. She dedicated 29 years of her life working as a clerk for the City of Dieppe and an additional 8 years at Household Finance before her retirement. Outside of work, Rolande found joy in gardening and cherishing summers at her Caissie Cape cottage. For two decades, she escaped the Canadian winters by spending them in Florida. Golf was another passion of hers, which she actively pursued until she reached the age of 80.

Rolande was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She is survived by her loving husband, Roger Gallant, and her children Denise Farrell, Claude, Donald, and Guy. Denise is married to John Farrell, while Mireille Lanouette, Rebecca, and Carol Ross are the spouses of Claude, Donald, and Guy respectively. Rolande’s grandchildren include Lynn, Jennifer, Chantal, Francois, Valerie, Madeleine, Justin, and Daniel. Additionally, she had six great-grandchildren: Cameryn-Alia, Christian, Cayden, Lauren, Calder, and Alexandro. She also leaves behind her brother Ola Bourque, who was married to the late Estelle, and many nieces and nephews. Rolande was preceded in death by her siblings Henriette, Lorraine, Georgia, Jeannette, Edith, Alice, Helene, and Edgar “Johnny”.

Visitation will take place at Passage – Chartersville on August 8th, 2023, from 2 to 4 pm and 7 to 9 pm. A funeral mass will be held at St-Anselme RC Church in Dieppe on August 9th, 2023, at 2 pm. In memory of Rolande, donations can be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association or to a memorial of choice.
