Ronald A. Kay

Ronald A. Kay, a resident of Canterbury Hall in Riverview, passed away peacefully at The Moncton Hospital on Saturday, August 12, 2023, at the age of 99. He was born in McKees Mills to Ernest and Ethel (Anderson) Kay. After dedicating 35 years of his life to CN Marine, Ronald retired. During World War II, he served with the R.C.A.F. and was proud to be a part of the armed forces. Ronald was deeply involved in various organizations, including Zion United Church, Coverdale Lodge #52 F. & A.M., and the Fidelity Chapter of the O.E.S. He was also a Lifetime Member of the Armstrong Legion #19 in Sydney, NS. His children, Karen Stephens (Richard) of Fredericton, John Kay (Vicky) of Ottawa, and David Kay (Charlene) of Halifax, as well as his granddaughters, Christine Stephens, Heather Angka, Bryenne and Melissa Kay, and Shanleigh Read, will greatly miss him. Ronald is survived by his great-grandchildren, Hayden Angka, Mackenzie and Tessa Kay-Côté, and Beckett Read. Sadly, Ronald was predeceased by his wife, Laura Kay, his daughter-in-law, Arlie Kay, and his sister, Ruth. In accordance with his wishes, there will be no visitation or funeral service. However, a graveside service will be held at Woodlawn Cemetery in McKees Mills. Fergusons Funeral Home in Moncton has been entrusted with the arrangements. Those who wish to honor Ronald’s memory are kindly asked to make contributions to the NB Heart and Stroke Foundation, Diabetes Canada, or Zion United Cemetery Fund.
