Ron peacefully passed away, with his loved ones by his side, after a brief battle with cancer. Born and raised in the vibrant neighborhood of East Vancouver, Ron pursued higher education and successfully obtained his degree from UBC. He fearlessly entered the world of marketing and sales and eventually established his own venture, Hewlett Agencies. Ron’s dedication and expertise led him to prestigious positions such as President of the BC chapter of the American Marketing Association, where he made significant contributions to the local sales community over the course of his extensive career. Despite coping with the challenges posed by advancing Parkinson’s disease in recent years, Ron’s unwavering determination allowed him to continue traveling extensively, fulfilling his desire for new experiences. Alongside his fondness for cheering on the Canucks and appreciating a glass of rich Bordeaux, Ron found solace on idyllic tropical beaches. Ron’s first wife, Maureen, preceded him in death in 1997. He is survived by his beloved wife of 21 years, Gerlinde, along with his cherished children, Julie (Colin) and Jason (Wendy). Ron’s step-children, Barbara (Chris) and Greg (Svetlana), also held a special place in his heart. In addition, Ron leaves behind a legacy of love through his beloved grandchildren, Alexander, Dylan, Meredith, Charlotte, Jaime, Simone, Monique, and Nina. The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the dedicated staff and volunteers of the Vancouver Hospice Society for the exceptional care and unwavering support provided to Ron during his final weeks.
