Ronald SMITH

Ronald George Smith, a retired O.C. Transpo Driver, peacefully passed away on July 30, 2023, at the age of 90. He was the beloved son of the late George and Etta Smith (Stewart). Ron was a loving husband to his wife Mary (Evans) and a devoted father to Gary, Darwin (Elaine), and Wayne (Sandy). He was preceded in death by his brothers Graham, Lloyd (Jessie), Roy (Helen), Keith (Jane), and Mervin (Phillis), as well as his sisters Thelma (Dave), Doreen (Jack), Annie Mae (Clarence), and Hattie (Joey). Ron is survived by his sister, Arvella.

In addition to his role as a bus driver, Ron had a passion for horse racing. He enjoyed owning and training his own horses, spending much of his time at the stables. His dedication to this hobby brought him great joy throughout his life. Ron’s warm and friendly nature touched the lives of many friends and relatives, and he will be deeply missed.

Ron leaves behind a lasting legacy: his cherished grandchildren, Brittany (Tom), Devon (Dave), Julia (Eric), and Stephanie (Sean), as well as his great-grandchild, Lyndsey. Furthermore, he was blessed to become a great-great-grandfather to Sophie and Violet.

The family has entrusted the care of Ronald George Smith to Kelly Funeral Home. As per Ron’s wishes, no service will be held. May his soul rest in peace.
