Ronald Sydney Powell, aged 82, passed away peacefully on October 19, 2023, in White Rock BC. He was born on April 17, 1941, in Vancouver BC to Sydney and Eva Powell. Ronald is survived by his sister Gail and his three sons, Cary and his wife Natalia, Glen and his wife Susan, and Cliff and his wife Linsay. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Adam, Christina, Sara, Erin, Duncan, Colin, Olya, and Regina. Ronald was predeceased by his beloved wife of 56 years, Sandra Powell (Cozens). Together, they shared a passion for travel and enjoyed numerous cruises worldwide, frequently visiting their favorite destination, Puerto Vallarta, Mexico.

A dedicated employee, Ronald retired from the BC Telephone Co in 1994 after serving 28 years as a manager in the Radio department. Throughout his life, Ronald possessed a charismatic and affable personality that allowed him to effortlessly make friends with everyone he encountered. His engaging presence and friendly demeanor endeared him to all who had the pleasure of meeting him. Ronald’s passing leaves a void in the lives of those who had the opportunity to know him, and he will be deeply missed by all.

Ronald is survived by his sister Gail, three sons, Cary, Glen, and Cliff, along with their respective spouses Natalia, Susan, and Linsay. His grandchildren, Adam, Christina, Sara, Erin, Duncan, Colin, Olya, and Regina, also mourn his loss. Additionally, Ronald is survived by his brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Bill and Margy. His loving wife of 56 years, Sandra Powell (Cozens), predeceased him. Together, Ronald and Sandra shared a love for travel, frequently embarking on cruises to various destinations worldwide. Among their favored locations was Puerto Vallarta, Mexico.

In 1994, Ronald retired from the BC Telephone Co after dedicating 28 years of service to the company. Throughout his life, Ronald was known for his amiable nature and genuine interest in others. His ability to strike up conversations and create genuine connections with people from all walks of life left a lasting impression on those he encountered. Ronald’s charming and approachable personality made him a beloved figure among family, friends, and acquaintances alike. The passing of Ronald Powell has left a void in the hearts of those fortunate enough to have known him, and he will be dearly missed.
