Ruth WINTER
Ruth Frances Winter, nee Spyer, peacefully passed away on October 28, 2023, at the age of 91, at St. Thomas-Elgin General Hospital in St. Thomas. She was predeceased by her beloved husband Murray Winter in 2003. Ruth is survived by her sons Jim MacVicar (Nancy), Steven MacVicar, and William David MacVicar. She will be fondly remembered by her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Ruth was born on November 24, 1931, in London, as the daughter of James Spyer and Selina May (Queenie) Lewis-Spyer.
A funeral service to celebrate Ruth’s life will be held on November 3, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. at Williams Funeral Home, located at 45 Elgin Street in St. Thomas. Prior to the service, visitation will take place from 10:00-11:00 a.m. Ruth will be laid to rest in Elmdale Memorial Park Cemetery following the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to a charity of your choice.

The Williams Funeral Home on Elgin Street in St. Thomas will host a funeral service in honor of Ruth on November 3, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. Family and friends are welcome to attend the visitation from 10:00-11:00 a.m. preceding the service. Ruth will be interred at Elmdale Memorial Park Cemetery. For those who wish to offer condolences, memorial contributions can be made to a charity chosen by the donor.
