Sean Dana Schamehorn, a resident of Edmonton, AB, Canada, passed away unexpectedly on October 28, 2023, at the age of 46. Sean was born on April 8, 1977, to John and Deborah Schamehorn in Edson, Alberta. He was the oldest son and third oldest among six siblings. Sean completed his early education in Edson before the family relocated to Fort Saskatchewan in 1992. He then attended Sturgeon Composite High School before pursuing a career as an electrician. However, after completing two years of study at Nait, he decided to change his direction and pursued youth care work at Grant Macewan College.
Sean was preceded in death by both sets of grandparents: John and Teresa (Hartman) Schamehorn of Quenell, British Columbia, and Felix and Lillian (Pontarolo) Cote of Calgary, Alberta. Additionally, Sean is survived by his parents, John and Deborah Schamehorn, and his son, Krystopher Maciaszek, residing in Edmonton, Alberta. He is also survived by three sisters: Lisa Schamehorn of Edmonton, Nicole (Darrell) Frisky of Rocky Mountain House, and Janelle (Jason) Dakus of Midland, Texas; as well as two brothers: Dustin (Joleen) Schamehorn of Fort Saskatchewan and Tyson (Rebecca) Schamehorn of Whitecourt. Sean is also remembered by his nine nieces and five nephews.
A service will be held on Thursday, November 9, 2023, at 2 pm at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, located at 14010-74th Street NW, Edmonton, Alberta, T5C 0Y2.
