Sharron STEACY

It is with great sadness that the Steacy Family of Gananoque announces the passing of Sharron W. Steacy at the age of 76. Sharron peacefully left this world on September 20 at Kingston General Hospital, surrounded by her loved ones. She was a devoted wife to the late Larry L. Steacy, and for 47 years they built a beautiful life and family together. Sharron dedicated herself to her family, taking great pride in their achievements and supporting them wholeheartedly. She was actively involved in her boys’ schools, sports events, youth programs, and their local church, where she and her family regularly attended masses on weekends and holidays.

Sharron was a beloved mother to David (Amber Baker) and the late Michael. Born and raised in Cornwall, she was the cherished daughter of the late Clarence and Alice Snider. Throughout her life, Sharron valued family and friendships, which she cultivated wholeheartedly. She found solace in studying the bible and actively participated in church programs, often sharing heartfelt stories. Sharron also had fond memories of her time working as a switchboard operator for Bell Canada, where she made lifelong friendships and where she was introduced to Larry. She enjoyed lunches and dinners with her loved ones and was always eager to try new local restaurants. We will miss her detailed reviews of menu items from her culinary adventures. Sharron’s warm and cheerful personality endeared her to everyone who crossed her path. Her genuine, loving smile will forever be remembered.

Sharron was a dear sister to the late Brian (Carole) Snider and the late Patricia. She was a proud grandmother to Keira Steacy and a beloved aunt to Kevin and the late Jason Snider. Sharron will deeply be missed by her long-time family friends, Sandy and Hoss Offord. Her loving nature touched the lives of everyone around her, and she will be forever loved and remembered by all who knew her.

The family would like to extend their gratitude to The Smile Program, The Sweater Gang, Community Paramedics, CPHC Senior Support Services, The KHSC Renal Unit, and Tompkins Funeral Home of Gananoque for their support and care during this difficult time.

A private family service and cremation will take place at Gananoque Cemetery. Memorial donations can be made to the Christ Anglican Church of Gananoque. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Tompkins Funeral Home and Cremation Services, located at 63 Garden Street, Gananoque K7G 1H8. For further information, please contact (613) 382-3088.
