Sheila Sheeran, beloved mother, passed away on July 7, 2023, at the age of 93. Born on January 14, 1930, in Montreal to Patrick Sheeran and Catherine Joyce, Sheila is survived by her devoted husband Maxwell (Max) Callaghan. She also leaves behind her loving children, Janice Bedard McGraw (Roger) and Lorne Bedard (Venita), from a previous marriage. Sheila took great pride and joy in her grandchildren, Patrick (Anna) and Kristen (Kristopher), as well as her great-grandchildren, Elodie and Mavis, who brought her immense happiness throughout her life.

As a single mother, Sheila raised her children with unwavering dedication and valued the support of her extended family. Her strong bond with her nephew, Peter, and nieces, Penny and Diana, was akin to that of a second mother. Veronica, Lorne and Janice’s mother, played a similar role in the lives of Peter, Penny, and Diana. Sheila cherished the moments she spent with her extended family and believed in nurturing love, acceptance, and loyalty among them.

Sheila’s zest for life was evident to all who knew her. She had a captivating presence that drew people in, and her warm smile and laughter brought comfort to those around her. Despite the challenges she faced, Sheila chose to maintain a positive outlook and ensured that her family, both immediate and extended, remained united in love. In 1990, upon marrying Max, she was thrilled to expand her circle of loved ones to include his family from Prince Edward Island. Sheila’s marriage to Max was filled with love, and she is deeply missed by him, as well as her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews, whom she brought together with style and joy.

The family would like to express their gratitude to the caregivers at Les Residence Floralies Lachine and West Island Manor for their tender care during Sheila’s final years. Though her last years were difficult, she faced them with her customary grace and charm.

The family will be receiving condolences on August 16, 2023, from 10:00 a.m. to noon, followed by a funeral service at 12:15 p.m., and a short reception at Centre Funeraire Cote des Neiges, located at 4525 Ch de la Cote des Neiges, Montreal, Qc H3V 1E7.
