Sadly, we share the devastating news of the departure of our beloved mother Shirley Fay Wegren (formerly Norrington), who peacefully passed away on August 25, 2023, at the remarkable age of 90. Our hearts ache as we bid farewell to a remarkable woman who held an immeasurable place in our lives. Shirley’s unconditional love for her family was unparalleled, and reciprocally, our love for her knows no bounds. Her memory will forever remain etched in our hearts.

Shirley is survived by her devoted daughter, Shari, her devoted son, Daryl, and her faithful canine companion, Gunner. Additionally, she leaves behind her sister, Darlene (Ken), her brother, Leroy (Madeline), her sister-in-law, Mary, her great niece, Michelle, her nieces, Brenda, Lori, and Bonnie (Harvey), and numerous other nieces, nephews, and cousins. We find solace in the knowledge that Shirley has reunited with her parents, Albert and Hazel Norrington, her loving husband, Merle, her brother, Vern, her nephew, Kelly, and her great nephew, Greg, who preceded her in death.

Born on May 8, 1933, on her grandfather Ullman’s homestead, Shirley’s spirit was nurtured by her humble beginnings. In the year 1959, she exchanged vows with Merle, embarking on a journey of unbreakable love and unwavering commitment. Shirley embodied strength, independence, and kindness, always prioritizing the welfare of others over her own. She remained actively involved in the family farm until her last days, a testament to her unyielding work ethic. The void left by Shirley’s absence is immeasurable, and her absence will be profoundly felt.

A private interment, where Shirley will find eternal rest alongside her beloved husband, is scheduled for a later date. It is our hope that during this time of grief and loss, we may find strength in unity and solace in the cherished memories of our beloved Shirley.
