Shirley FOSTER

Shirley Marie Foster, aged 84, passed away on November 5, 2023, at Strathroy-Middlesex General Hospital. She was the beloved wife of the late Harry Foster and the dear sister of Carolyn Thomas, Bob Thomas, and the late Patricia Thorpe. Shirley was born in St. Thomas on April 11, 1939, to the late Fletcher “Tommy” and Myrtle (Symes) Thomas. She was a loving aunt to several nieces and nephews and had a passion for raising and showing horses at their farm “Kennoway”.

Shirley will be remembered for her dedication to the equestrian world and her participation in numerous horse shows and sales in both Canada and the United States. She was a cherished member of her community and will be deeply missed by all who knew her. A private family service was held in her honor, with interment at Union Cemetery. Those who wish to pay their respects can make donations to the charity of their choice. Williams Funeral Home in St. Thomas is in charge of arrangements.

Shirley’s love for her family, her horses, and her community will live on in the hearts of those who knew her. She leaves behind a rich legacy of kindness, dedication, and passion that will not be forgotten. Her presence will be deeply missed, but her memory will continue to inspire and bring comfort to those who loved her.
