Shirley Hesp

Shirley Irene Hesp gracefully crossed the boundary that separates our earthly existence from the afterlife on Monday, August 14, 2023. She took her last breath at Hospice Wellington, located in Guelph, Ontario. Shirley will always be remembered for her profound adoration for flowers, her unwavering devotion to precision, and her incredible talent for artwork and painting. Her remarkable character and countless acts of kindness have left an indelible mark in the hearts of all those who had the privilege of knowing her. Her absence will be deeply felt, especially by her beloved family, including her devoted husband Murray and her daughter Karen Freure (Bob Pastway), along with her cherished grandchildren Jason and Emily.

Shirley was preceded in death by her dear siblings: Rudy (Sue), Norman (Agnes), Barbara (Mel), and Betty Mitchell. She is survived by her loving brother Baxter (June) and brother Bill (Gail). Furthermore, she held a special place in the hearts of her stepchildren, who she considered her own, including the late David Hesp (Yvonne), Donna (the late Kyle Booth), and the late Kenneth Hesp.

Although coping with Shirley’s departure is an arduous task for those she has left behind, it is important to honor her spirit by finding solace and strength. As a final tribute, Shirley will be laid to rest at Laurel Hill Cemetery in Bolton, Ontario. In recognition of the exceptional care and support provided by Hospice Wellington, donations can be made to Hospice Wellington at 795 Scottsdale Drive, Guelph ON N1G 3R8.

Shirley’s legacy will forever echo through the lives she touched and the memories she created. Her remarkable journey on this earth has come to an end, but her spirit will continue to inspire and uplift all those who carry her memory in their hearts.
