Sidney SCHWARTZ

Sidney Schwartz, beloved husband of Marilyn Hayes for thirty-four years, passed away peacefully on November 4, 2023. He was the loving father and father-in-law of Jill, Gordon, Joanie and Glen, Laurie and Max, Philip and Bonnie. Sidney was adoringly referred to as Grandpa Sid by his grandchildren Emma, David, Ethan, Josh, Erin, Samantha, Abigail, Zoë, and Matthew. He was the son of the late Harry and Dora and predeceased by his siblings, Phyllis and Lionel Goldsmith, Zelda and Solly Mayoff. Sidney was a much-loved uncle to Angela, Ronald, Fred, Donna, Robert, Doug, Richard, and Bonnie.

Throughout his life, Sidney was known for his warmth, generosity, and as an award-winning artist, a beloved fixture in the East End of Montreal where he ran his store and owned a building.

The funeral service for Sidney Schwartz was held on Tuesday, November 7th at Paperman & Sons, with a private Shiva. Sidney Schwartz, a cherished husband, father, grandfather, and community member, will be dearly missed and always remembered for the love and joy he brought to those around him. He made a positive impact on the lives of many and his memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
