Spencer William Bernard, a beloved resident of Regina, passed away unexpectedly on July 21, 2023. Born and raised in Regina, he later moved to the Kelowna area before eventually returning to his hometown. Spencer had a deep passion for hockey and excelled as a defenceman, often delighting in robustly challenging offensive players. He found great joy in traveling to play hockey, attending football games with his father, and taking exhilarating downhill ski trips alongside his cousins, Chet and Chase. It is with heavy hearts that we mourn the loss of Spencer, who was preceded in death by his grandfather Werner Kaeser, as well as his grandparents Stewart and Karen Bernard. He leaves behind a grieving father, Darren Bernard, his grandmother Helen Kaeser, his aunt Gena Ferguson, all residing in Indian Head, and his aunt Liana Robichaud and uncle Trevor Bernard, residing in Nanton AB and Midland ON, respectively. Spencer’s absence will be felt deeply by his extended family and numerous friends. A Funeral Service to honor Spencer’s memory will be held at Speers Family Centre, located at 2333 Cornwall Street, Regina SK on Friday, August 11, 2023, commencing at 1 p.m. Interment will follow the service at Riverside Memorial Park, situated at 815 Assiniboine Ave E, Regina SK.

Regina’s resident, Spencer William Bernard, sadly and unexpectedly passed away on July 21, 2023. After being born in Regina, he temporarily resided in the Kelowna area before making his way back to his hometown. Spencer had a remarkable talent for hockey and notably excelled as a defenceman; he took ample pleasure in aggressively challenging offensive players and jostling them into the boards. Alongside his passion for hockey, Spencer enjoyed embarking on hockey-related trips, attending thrilling football games with his father, and indulging in adrenaline-pumping downhill ski adventures alongside his cousins, Chet and Chase. The sudden departure of Spencer has cast a profound sorrow upon us, particularly as we remember his loving grandfather Werner Kaeser, as well as his grandparents Stewart and Karen Bernard, who have all gone before him. In our grief, we stand by Spencer’s grieving father, Darren Bernard, alongside his grandmother Helen Kaeser, his aunt Gena Ferguson residing in Indian Head, and his aunt Liana Robichaud and uncle Trevor Bernard, based in Nanton AB and Midland ON, respectively. The void left by Spencer’s absence will be acutely felt by his extensive network of family and friends. In honor of his memory, a Funeral Service will take place at Speers Family Centre, which can be found at 2333 Cornwall Street, Regina SK on Friday, August 11, 2023, starting at 1 p.m. Following the service, we will proceed to Riverside Memorial Park, located at 815 Assiniboine Ave E, Regina SK, for the interment ceremony.
