Stuart de Kroon passed away peacefully at the Brockville General Hospital on Monday, September 18, 2023, at the age of 85. He was highly regarded in both Lansdowne and Westport communities and had been a dedicated member of the Bethel Christian Reformed Church for many years.

Stuart was the beloved husband of Elizabeth (Van der Woude) de Kroon and the loving father of Henry de Kroon (Hilda nee DeJong), Jane VanNoy (Jay David), Steven de Kroon (Cathy nee Dijkema), John de Kroon (Julie nee Raison), and Allen de Kroon (Elaine nee Brinkert). He was also a cherished grandfather to 16 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren. Stuart was predeceased by his parents, Hendrick and Pietronella de Kroon, and his siblings Susan Mulder, Liz Micallef, and Joe de Kroon. He will be fondly remembered by his sister Aafke Van Ogtrop, as well as in-laws Vince Micallef and Joanne de Kroon, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Originally from the Netherlands, Stuart immigrated to Lansdowne in the 1950s and established himself as a farmer. Subsequently, he became a co-owner of a business in Westport before his retirement. Stuart had a deep passion for camping, fishing, and gardening. Above all, he delighted in spending quality time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, engaging in playful banter and games.

Family and friends are invited to pay their respects during the visitation at the Barclay Funeral Home, located at 137 Pearl St. E., Brockville, on Thursday from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. The Funeral Service in honor of Stuart’s Life will take place at the Bethel Christian Reformed Church, situated at 117 Windsor Drive, Brockville, on Friday, September 22, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. The private family interment will follow at Union Cemetery in Lansdowne.
