Sydney “Brent” Francis, known affectionately as “Flag,” passed away on Monday, August 28, 2023. He was the cherished son of Dawn Edna Francis (née McKee) and the late Sydney Ralph Francis. Brent was a beloved brother to Bonnie (Chris) and Travers (Gwen). He was dearly loved and greatly missed by his nieces, nephews, extended family, and his closest friends, who were considered his chosen family. Brent will forever be remembered for his exceptional generosity, strong sense of community, thirst for adventure, and infectious laughter that was like no other. A brief graveside service will be held at Hillcrest Cemetery in Smiths Falls on Saturday, October 7, 2023, at 1:30 p.m. Following the interment, everyone is invited to join in celebrating Brent’s life at the Smiths Falls Legion. Instead of sending flowers, the family kindly requests considering a donation to Serenity Renewal for Families in memory of Brent. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Lannin Funeral Home.
