With deep sadness, we inform you of the passing of our beloved Tannys Lee Scott, aged 70. She is survived by her devoted husband Norman Dimock, and their two children, Alison and Michael (Minnie). Tannys is also survived by her dear mother, Barbara Scott. Sadly, she was preceded in death by her father James Scott and her brother Gregg Scott. She will be remembered fondly by her sister-in-law Alice (Gregg – deceased), as well as her niece and nephew Stephanie and Ryan. Additionally, her sister-in-law Claudia (George) and brother-in-law Raymond (Ann), along with their children, cherish her memory.

Tannys spent her early years in rural Manitoba before relocating to Winnipeg after graduating from high school. There, she pursued education in bookkeeping and later obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Manitoba. Following her marriage to Norman in 1980, the couple settled in Ottawa, where Tannys worked diligently at Statistics Canada until her retirement in 2012.

During her retirement, Tannys discovered her true passion for playing the celtic fiddle. She found solace and joy in music, considering it nourishment for the soul. Apart from her musical pursuits, she delighted in attending exercise classes, sharing laughter and conversations over coffee and lunches with her friends, and indulging in a good fiction book.

Tannys will be deeply missed for her radiant smile, warm hospitality, gentle voice, acts of kindness, keen sense of humor, and her unassuming love for her many cherished friends. In accordance with her wishes, a funeral service will not be held. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Ottawa Cancer Society, the Humane Society, or any charity that holds personal significance.

Tannys exemplified compassion and taught us the true meaning of love. We will forever hold her in our hearts, missing her dearly every day.
